Work Based Learning Opportunities (WBL)
Work-Based Learning (WBL) represents the pinnacle of the Career Pathway experience. To qualify for a WBL placement, a student must be in grades 11 or 12 and at least 16 years-old. Students must also have a defined Career Pathway in order to participate in the WBL component of their career pathway. This is especially important for successful completion of a student’s pathway in that the student’s job placement is directly related to the curriculum of the Career Pathways classes completed or currently enrolled. Opportunities for work-based learning include Youth Apprenticeship (YAP), Cooperative Education, Internship and Clinical Experiences. Coordinator recommendation is required for all WBL placements.
